What Wake Up Now actually is
Most people meet the BrainO network through a bill they are trying to shrink. Wake Up Now is the other door. It is the personal side of the network: books, songs, videos, cooking, Australian humour and the member extras that sit alongside the practical products.
A reader recently asked a fair question: what is Wake Up Now for, if the network is mostly about phones, websites and paperwork? The short answer is that the personal side came first. Before the platform, before the customer systems, there were stories. Family, work, courtrooms, mistakes, wins and losses. Wake Up Now is where those stories live, and where the books, songs and kitchen experiments that grew out of them are collected.
The story behind the site
The legal side of the network did not begin as a software idea. It came from years of dealing with forms, evidence, hearings and deadlines, and from learning the difference between what somebody says happened and what the documents actually prove. By Colin's own count, that history includes more than 37 court wins, including 18 personal matters. Those figures are presented as Colin's account of the history, and individual cases and outcomes should be read in their own context.
Wake Up Now carries that same instinct, just pointed at different material. The site is described as the journey into the network: family, work, books, courtrooms, customers, mistakes and the things that were built because ordinary people should not need a corporation behind them just to get paperwork, phones, websites or legal information organised.
That is why the tone matters. It is not a corporate brochure. It is a record kept by people who learned the hard way, and it is written for members rather than for a boardroom.
Books, songs, videos and the kitchen
The editorial focus at Wake Up Now is straightforward: books, authorship, songs, cooking, Australian humour, member extras and the stories behind the network itself.
- Books and authorship — the writing side of the network, including the Book Club and the stories behind the titles.
- Songs and videos — music and film work sitting alongside the written material.
- Cooking — food, recipes and the everyday kitchen side of family life.
- Australian humour — the dry, self-aware tone that runs through much of the site.
- Member extras — the products and benefits that members can actually use.
If you want the listening side first, the Listen page collects the songs and audio. If you would rather watch, the Videos page is the place to start. Neither is a hard sell. They are simply the easiest way to get a feel for what the site is about before reading further.
Cooking fits the same pattern. It is not a restaurant review column or a professional food blog. It is the practical, family-kitchen end of the network, where a recipe is something you actually cook on a Tuesday night rather than something photographed for a magazine.
How members use the site
There is no single correct way to use Wake Up Now. Some members come for the books and stay for the humour. Others arrive through the legal learning material and discover the songs later. A few just want to know what the network includes before deciding whether any of it is useful to them.
The practical route is usually this: read the story, sample the books or the music, then look at what else the network offers. The marketplace is where the member extras and product side sits, and it is worth a look once you have a sense of the tone.
One point worth making plainly: the legal material connected to the network is general information and learning, not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. It is designed to organise paperwork and make the next question clearer, which is a different job from telling you what to do in your own matter.
Where to start
If you are new, start with the story rather than the product list. Read a book extract, play a song, watch a short video, try a recipe. The site is built so that the personal material stands on its own, and the rest of the network makes more sense once you have spent a little time there.
Wake Up Now is the front page of that personal side. It keeps the story in view and points members toward the books, songs, videos, cooking and extras without turning the whole thing into a wall of plans.
Have a look around, pick the thing that interests you first, and take it from there.
