We respect copyright, and we expect authors on the shop to do the same. Authors are responsible for the books they upload. If you own rights in a work and believe a book sold here infringes them, tell us and we'll act.
Report an infringing book
Email support@oimailman.com with the subject line “Copyright complaint” and include:
- Your details — your name and contact email, and whether you are the rights holder or acting on their behalf.
- The work — what you own (for example, the title of your book) and where it is published, if online.
- The infringing listing — the link to the book on our shop, and enough detail for us to find it.
- A statement that you believe, in good faith, the material is being used without permission from you, the rights holder, or the law.
- A statement that the information you've given is accurate, and (to the extent you're able) that you are authorised to act for the rights holder.
What happens next
- We aim to review genuine complaints promptly. Where a complaint appears valid, we may remove or disable the book while we look into it.
- We may pass your complaint (and your contact details) to the author who uploaded the book, so they can respond or, if they believe the claim is mistaken, tell us why.
- If the author gives us a good-faith response showing they have the right to sell the book, we may restore it.
- Authors who repeatedly or seriously infringe copyright can have their account suspended or closed.
For authors
If your book is removed after a complaint and you believe that's a mistake, reply to us with an explanation of why you have the right to publish and sell the work. We'll consider it fairly. See also your Author & Seller Agreement.
A note on the law
Copyright in Australia is governed by the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth). This policy is our practical process for handling complaints; it isn't legal advice and doesn't limit any rights or remedies you may have under the law. For advice about your situation, speak to a qualified lawyer.
