Wake Up Now Bookshop

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 25 August 2026

These terms govern your use of the Wake Up Now Bookshop at wakeupnow.com.au (the “site”). By using the site or buying a book, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

1. Who we are

The site is operated by Colin James Medley, trading as The Handy Man To Know (ABN 70 545 298 533) (“we”, “us”, “the shop”), as part of the BrainO network. You can reach us at support@oimailman.com.

2. What the shop is

The shop is a marketplace. It lets independent authors publish and sell their own books — as ebooks (PDF) and, where offered, audiobooks. Some books are published by us; most are published by third-party authors. When you buy a book published by another author, your purchase is of that author's work, sold through our platform.

3. Buying a book

4. Your account

You don't need an account to buy a book. If you create an author account to sell, the separate Author & Seller Agreement also applies. Keep your login details private; you're responsible for activity under your account.

5. Content on the site

Books are written and uploaded by their authors, who are responsible for their own content. We don't pre-vet every book. If you believe a book infringes your copyright, see our Copyright & Takedown Policy. If you think content breaks these terms, tell us at support@oimailman.com and we can remove it.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to: break the law using the site; copy, scrape, or redistribute books or site content without permission; attempt to bypass payment or access controls; upload malware; or interfere with the site's operation.

7. Your consumer rights

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits those rights. For major failures you may be entitled to a remedy as set out in that law. See our Refund Policy.

8. Availability

We try to keep the site running smoothly but can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change, suspend, or withdraw parts of the site, or particular books, at any time.

9. Our liability

To the extent permitted by law, and subject to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site. Where our liability can be limited, it is limited to re-supplying the book or refunding what you paid for it.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version always lives at this page, with the “last updated” date above. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. Disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and the Commonwealth of Australia. This does not affect any rights you have under mandatory consumer laws in your own location.
